Wintergreen Advisers hires Fred T. Perlstadt as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer.

Mountain Lakes, NJ – David J. Winters, CEO, Wintergreen Advisers LLC, is pleased to announce Fred T. Perlstadt, 52, has joined Wintergreen Advisers as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Winters said, "Fred's combination of financial and compliance expertise makes him well qualified to assume this important role at Wintergreen Advisers. His appointment is a key step in our firm's development."

In his new role, Fred Perlstadt will focus on financial accounting topics as well as regulatory and investment compliance. Mr. Perlstadt said, "My role is very much like being the firm's ethics officer. There is a culture of compliance that I found and will continue at Wintergreen Advisers."

Wintergreen Advisers provides investment advisory services to clients including Wintergreen Fund, a no-load global value fund that was opened to investors in October 2005.

Prior to joining Wintergreen, Mr. Perlstadt was with Valenzuela Capital Partners LLC, where he served as Chief Administrative Officer/ Chief Compliance Officer.

Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer for both Americap Advisers/Woodford Gayed Management, and for Rochdale Securities Corporation.

Before that, he served as Chief Financial Officer – North America Private Bank for Barclays Bank PLC, and as Product Specialist – Global Private Banking Group and as Controller – Global Private Banking Group for Bankers Trust Company.
